Condair Humidifies Drupa Halls

Drupa Halls - Temporary Humidification System - High Pressure Humidifiers

Condair - Drupa Halls

Print humidification specialist, Condair, is creating Europe’s largest temporary humidification system at Drupa 2016 to maintain the optimum humidity in both the Heidelberg hall 1 and the Hewlett Packard hall 17.

Draabe TurboFogNeo 8 high pressure humidifiers are being suspended from the halls’ ceilings during the exhibition to maintain an optimum 55% relative humidity (%RH) for the perfect demonstration of the printing equipment on display. A low humidity can lead to static problems and cause a paper’s moisture content to drop, with a resulting change to its physical size. This can happen surprisingly quickly, with paper losing up to 20% of its moisture content in just 90 seconds when exposed to a humidity of less than 40%RH.

A total of 50 Draabe humidifiers will be installed, which are capable of spraying up to 1,600 litres of moisture per hour to humidify the total area of 12,000m². Four Draabe PerPur water treatment and high pressure pump units will be treating and supplying the water to the humidification systems, as well as supplying pure water to the Heidelberg printing machines.

The installation at Drupa is a logistical challenge as all activities need to be coordinated with the event’s organisers and the print industry’s two leading machinery suppliers, in order not to disrupt their preparations prior to the opening of Drupa on 31/05/16. However, the humidification specialist can call on its extensive experience for the event, as this will be the sixth time that the company has been commissioned by Heidelberg to maintain the air humidity around its exhibits at Drupa.

Alongside the Draabe humidification systems operating in hall 1 and 17, visitors will be able to visit and see the Condair range of print humidifiers on the Draabe / Condair stand D43 in hall 16 and in the Heidelberg partners’ area in hall 1.
